Apollo DKV Health Insurance announces entry in the state of Assam

Ties up with ‘Health First’ for providing best Health Insurance solutions to its customers

Guwahati, 16 March’09: Apollo DKV, with its vision, “To provide affordable and innovative health insurance solutions to every citizen of India and become their first-choice partner in positive health”, today announced the launch of a formal business tie-up with Health First, a leading NGO engaged in providing basic health care in rural Assam. Through the tie-up, Apollo DKV plans to distribute affordable health Insurance solution to the people of Assam.

In its endeavor to reach larger masses, Apollo DKV has entered into a strategic tie - up with Health First, a prominent NGO in the state of Assam with interest in the development of rural healthcare in Assam. This symbiotic business association is poised to help Apollo DKV leverage the relationships and associations of Health First with rural and urban poor in Assam while making health insurance solutions readily available to them.

Apollo DKV will build its own channels across the state of Assam in due course of time besides leveraging the tie-up with Health First, who has agreed to sell Apollo DKV’s products to their members acting as an aggregator and also, tie-up with other similar NGO/MFI to aggregate the enrollment. Apollo DKV also plans to have a national presence across 35 locations by the second year of operations and spread to over 100 locations by the 3rd year of operation.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr. Axel Munaretto, CEO, Apollo DKV, said, “Apollo DKV is putting in a concerted effort at expanding the health insurance category by introducing new and innovative products while catering to newer geographies in India. Apollo DKV has developed a special policy to be sold through this tie-up where Sum Insured level is Rs. 25000 per annum with a premium of Rs.900 including service tax for a family of 5, wherein a family is defined as Member plus spouse plus 3 dependent unmarried children less than 21 years of age. This would cover treatment on cashless basis in general ward across network hospitals in ASSAM for pre-existing diseases, all major procedures including maternity benefit where the conception & delivery is within policy period.
